			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>The professional choreographic team, Dario Mejia and Giselle Mejia, received specialized training in the styles of modern, contemporary, and traditional dance forms, from The Juilliard School and SUNY Purchase College, respectively. Their many endeavors in the metro area include teaching with the Cowles Center for Dance and Performing Arts, Academy of Russian Ballet, Premiere Dance Academy, Lundstrum Center for the Performing Arts, and setting original choreography for the Main Street School of Performing Arts. They launched a dance company, Curio Dance, in January of 2009 with a premiere evening length duo performance. Since then, they have aired on MN Original, were highlighted in a documentary of Latino voices in Minnesota, orchestrated a week long artist-in-residence in Hood River, OR, and curated Drop the Mic! at the Guthrie Theater in January 2011.</p>

<p>KetzalCoatlicue ofrece presentaciones culturales autenticas con comentario sobre los elementos naturales de cada danza y la conecion con el medio ambiente. Nuestros danzantes son infantes, jóvenes y adultos. Hemos danzado para programas educativos y comunitarios, eventos religiosos y juntas de padres, eventos en parques y ceremonias tradicionales. Estamos localizados en el sur de Minneapolis.</p>

<p><strong>KetzalCoatlicue</strong> (Precious Mother Earth) is a <em>Kalpulli </em>(learning community) of Indigenous people joined by the desire to learn, share and live the tradition of Mexican Aztec dance.<em> </em>Led by director Susana De León, <strong>KetzalCoatlicue </strong>pursues this spiritual, mental, and physical vocation with music from the sacred drum, conch shells, seeds and other instruments gifted by the natural environment. KetzalCoatlicue is a member of the Dance Board of the Fifth Sun based in Axochiapan, Morelos.</p>
<p>KetzalCoatlicue offers authentic cultural presentations with commentary on the cultural representations of nature depicted in the dance steps and the connection between the dances and the environment. Our members are all volunteers and range in age from toddlers to adults. Each member is instructed in the art of designing and production of regalia. We have danced for educational programs, community groups, vigils, parent meetings, community demonstrations and public celebrations. We are located in South Minneapolis.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p><strong>Fuego Latino</strong> is a group of freelance dancers all Hispanic, performing folkloric dances from Colombia since 2002.   The group is committed with the rehearsals, doing research on dances, costumes, music, finding   places to rehears at, etc. The group has been a success because the great skills and ideas  all the dancers bring   to it,  as well as the extent hours the dancers have been willing to invest. Dancers are very committed with and proud of their Hispanic  community; therefore, through performances this group would like to bring  more awareness of culture, dances and rhythms.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>The Corazon Latino Dance Troupe (grades 3 -12) grew out of PLAC&#8217;s (Parents of Latin American Children) La Semana Culture Camp, with the purpose of retaining and enhancing dance skills learned, and to share  Latin American culture with the community.  It is a performance-oriented troupe; a group of people whose ultimate goal is a highly polished performance.  The Corazon Latino Dance Troupe performs their dances at the Festival of Nations in early May and other special performances throughout the year.</p>
